Rebuild the Ancient Ruins

The Voice from Calvary’s mountain still echoes through this town
Hear the Son of God repeating prophecies
He talks of miracles and wonders the blind and lame through Him have found
Yet he speaks of those doing miracles greater than these

They will rebuild the ancient ruins in My name
They will restore the broken city for My sake
They have known this devastation
For too many generations
Yet now rebuild the ancient ruins in My name

There are bricks and there is mortar that have crumbled to the ground
It’s a sign that a mighty, mighty trouble has caused this decay
There’s been injustice, there’s been oppression
There’s been some fear, there’s been some hate
But there’s a people livin’ out a miracle through their faith

As they will rebuild the ancient ruins in My name
As they will restore the broken city for My sake
They have known this devastation
For too many generations
They now rebuild the ancient ruins in My name

Through the cracks in the broken concrete
A blade of grass has grown
Let it remind you that God’s salvation is close at hand
It comes from the Root and the Seed of Jesse that can sprout in the desert sand

Calling men of every color
Calling women of every shade
Calling people of the Kingdom to rebuild this place…

Let us rebuild the ancient ruins in God’s name
Let us restore the broken city for God’s sake
We have known this devastation
For too many generations
Let us rebuild the ancient ruins in God’s name
